Hey FCP users,

I need to ask a question about exporting to a DV camerea from FCP HD. Because right now I have to export from iMovie which is a pain, I don't even want to get into what I have to do to export it to iMovie because of such low hard drive space on my internal drive. Anyways, How would you export to a DV camera from FCP because I go to Edit to Tape and I pretty much dont know what to do from there. I also tried Print To Video but I use that to preview my movies in full screen so I dont think I can do that there, can I?

Any help appreciated, thanks!

Print to Video is what you want. When your camera is plugged in and ready to go, it should prompt you to start recording (or it will do it automatically), and then it rolls. That's it.

OR, you can just go to View - External Video. Select Mark All Frames. If your camera is plugged in and on VCR, just press record (usually, it's record, then PLAY to start the actual recording on camcorders). Then press play on your canvas. The camcorder will record whatever is on the canvas. That's what I do. I had some problems when I tried to Print to Video for some reason.

I tried Print To Video and and I set it to start recording, it doesn't record anything, it says record on the camera but it doesn't record any video.

My camera doesnt have a record option on it because its a Canon ZR 60 (got to get a new camera). So I don't think I can do what Durden said.

Are you saying that there's not a second record button on your ZR 60? One for VTR mode? If that's the case then the ZR 60's are worse than I thought. There should be another record button if the normal one doesn't work.

No, there's no other record button. I guess ZR 60's were just meant to be used for homemade stuff and for people that don't know much about cameras.

Are you POSITIVE that there isn't? I've worked with one before and I never recall having a problem with exporting it back to camera. Look it up in the directions and tell us what you find

Does it have a remote? I use the remote to start the recording on my ZR40. It puts it into REC standby, and then i hit pause on the camera to actually start it.

Yes titanium! Thank you.

The remote thing worked and now I actually found out from having it for a year in a half that it can record in VTR mode. Thanks again guys.

this is why you should read the manual.

most websites have their product manuals in .pdf format nowadays.
