OK...I just posted about new cameras, but I'm looking to upgrade software as well and I have a bunch of questions of Adobe After effects because I'm not sure how the whole system works.

1. Are there major differences between 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, and 7.0? I've seen 6.0 at decent prices but wasn't sure what to go for. Would that be worth it?

2. What is the difference between education and professional versions? I've been looking on ebay a lot. I'm using this for real projects I'll be putting into festivals, not schooling.

3. I edit on Sony Vegas. Can I use After Effects in conjunction with this or will I need to also purchase premiere elements and photoshop?

4. I have about $300 I can invest into this. If I were to buy this on ebay, what would I need to be on the lookout for? What specifications should I make sure of?

Any advice would be awesome. I'm brand new to After Effects and Adobe in general and am a little clueless.

After Effects is good but but personally I like FXhome visonlab studio. Go try the demos/trials of both and see what you think first before buying...
