Anybody here use Final Cut Express? Is it any good? Or do you need to have Final Cut Pro to get decent results?

FCE is great. It's basically the same as FCP, but just doesn't have some of the super advanced features (like RT and HD/film capture and whatnot).

Thanks. I went ahead and bought FCE and eMac with superdrive. I hope mac is as good as they say it is.

i'd have said go g5 or g4.... but you'll love it all the same! glad you went mac.

i know, i thought someone might point that out. but's not QUITE as good. less expansion room, built in moniter, etc. but hey, it IS a g4 and that means good things so i won't pick at the details.

I'm glad you guys think I did the right thing by getting a mac. I've never used a mac before so I wasn't sure if it was a good idea. The salesman tried to talk me into buying bunch of extras but I'm sure I can upgrade later, unlike my current PC.
