Do any of you own one? Do you like it? How much did you spend? Was it worth it?

You know, all the usual questions. Smile

I'm looking to buy one, and there's a lot more available then I thought there would be so I thought I would get some opinions.

I've been using my camera. I've had some experience with the DSR-11 and its passable. It's a little slow and not too frame accurate for outputs. But its the cheapest Sony brand and it works.

Too expensive. I'd suggest buying a miniDV camera that you will use only for capture.

well thats part of the problem, whenever I try and record something on my GL2 and import with a lesser grade camera I get problems. (which I haven't been able to figure out why).

What kind of problems? Because it could be that camera in particular. Try cleaning the heads. Or using a different camera.

Unless your capturing and/or printing to tape everyday (or nearly everyday) you really don't need a deck because there won't be enough wear on the camera heads of your camera (or a cheap camera you would buy) to warrant the use of a dedicated machine specifically designed to be used everyday.

Good Luck
