How the hell do I capture DVCPRO using Final Cut Pro?
I'm about to lose my mind trying to figure this out.

I'm using a Panasonic AJ-HD1400 deck.
I'm using Final Cut Pro 5.1.2.

Any help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks.

What kind of DVCPRO?

You should just be able to use the Easy Setup for the format you're trying to capture. If that isn't working, try refreshing the A/V devices. If that doesn't work, try a new cable, or a different machine or a different port.

If that doesn't work, go into the Audio Video Settings and make sure the capture preset is set to DV/DVCPRO NTSC, DVCPRO50 NTSC, or DVCPRO HD 720/1080i/p depending on the format (I'm not sitting in front of FCP so the wording of the formats may be slightly different. And then once that is set correctly, the deck should be in the output dropdown menu. If it isn't, then something is wrong with the deck, the firewire cable, the firewire port, the computer or FCP.

And also make sure all the settings on the deck are correct for the format you're using and the type of output you're going for (as in output to DV or something along those lines).

Hopefully there was something in there of use.

Best of luck.
