Hi all, I have just recieved my XL2 off ebay, and as far as i know it is in perfect condition no scratches or anything and I have been doing a litle test fiming with it, and after that test fiming I wanted to import the footage into my new intel Imac..so i opened FCP and went into log and capture, where it said there was "no connection" to any camera I refreshed the AV devices, still same problem, I tried it in I-movie, same problem. I am hooked up by fire wire in the back of the XL2 into my Imac, I am running the XL2 on battery , and it has a dead battery Icon on the screen for the small battery
on the right of the Camera which I will replace soon. I was wondering is it a defects in my program, or heaven forbid I got a lemon XL2? FCP has been treating me weird, like not letting me export my video to Sountrack and giving error messages. Is there anyway I can connect my XL2 to my computer? I have another one coming soon, I thought it was as simple as plugging the Camera in and the computer connecting it!?! I dunno whats going on!

since you did get it off ebay there may be a chance the firewire port in the camera may be shot. If that is the case then you'll want to send it into canon to have the port replaced. Yes more money but just think of how much your already going to save!!!
