How can I send a file that's on my computer to my camcorder and record it back on to a MiniDV??

if you search around you'll find some in depth answers on this board in in your manual.

the short answer is:

hook up the DV cam to the computer with a firewire cable. open your NLE of choice (fcp, avid, premeire, imovie.. whatever).

set your camera to VCR or playback mode.

hit record on the camera (not the record for filming things, this one is usually diferent)

press play on your computer.

that's it!

Hm, I only recall one place to hit record on my camcorder.

it's often nestle in amongst the VCR buttons, or even on the remote control.
again - it's best to read your manual. it could be totaly diferent from the norm. Smile

Some cameras dont have manual recording start (and dont allow analog input) so you have to find in your editor the "activate recording deck" option when exporting. This panel might also give you an option for black or preroll at start, much safter than pressing it manually and poss. missing stuff at the file's begining.
