Why not record it yourself?
I don't think there's a significant sound unless the smoker is trying to make it sound 'loud.'

wish i could help. But, while on the topic of sound effects. Ive been looking for that law and order sound effect that is used in the transitions. And, that classic cowboy show down song.If anyone has a clue what im talking about and where to find it. It would make my day. I dont really care about rights or anything cuz what im using it for is for a friends class project. thanks
Lets make art together...

Use a regular mic. The effect is going to be dubbed, anyway...

I do have it, ADRed for a radio drama I did, but sadly I can't give it to you. The actor's release didn't cover this kind of usage, as you might guess. Just find a quiet place, and record it with a USB microphone into a laptop computer (cause they don't make noise). | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." Mine does... It would be easier/better to use a video camera with a mic input, IMO, or even the internal mic.

is it really important to hear the sound? I have some people smoking in my movie but they are talking so it doesnt matter that u cant hear them exale or the tobacco burning. plus when no ones talking i never hear people exhale either! Think of how Hitchcock left out the sound of the door closing in pyscho quote: I do have it, ADRed for a radio drama I did, but sadly I can't give it to you. The actor's release didn't cover this kind of usage, as you might guess. this is prob the biggest joke ive ever heard

No, nobody is checking. It's a little think called integrity. We made the deal in good faith, and for me to break it would be unethical, immoral and illegal. | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." Wodehouse

Can you please try to be mature? You're really not contributing much to the discussion here. | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." Wodehouse

Thread locked. Thanks for playing. Has anyone else noticed how much thread locking I've been doing recently? Wise up people. Behave, or get locked. I'm tired of the stupid, immature and flaming stuff that's been going on in this forum, and it's going to stop. "It's like Vegas. The house always wins."
