weird there are tons of things i could think of with any NLE - how does it cover half the screen? do you mean half the playback area? or half the screen when you export back to tape? it it half (like vertically or horizontally - squished?) or a quarter, as in half both ways? anyway - i'm not a premiere expert but i may have a clue depending on those things i asked. | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." No he cant say that. We don't discuss that stuff here for the sake of the board. Getting back to the topic, i have an answer for you. Project-> Project Settings -> General. Under the title and action safe area options is a check box for scale clips to proj. dimensions when adding to sequence. You are probably using footage at a lower resolution and subsuquently not filling the entire screen. Be aware that you may lose some res. By the way, you said you captured with movie maker from a vhs-c cam, but using what interface? Not firewire obviously, Dazzle or something? That could explain it as well. Many low end interface devices capture at 320x240. You may need to place all of your clips back into your sequence to force the change. If this is the case, you may be better off taking the entire sequence and placing it into a new sequence. Select that full length clip, go to effetc controls, click on motion and resize the footage to fill the screen. That way you dont have to do the editing over again.
