Does anyone have Final Cut Express? Right now I use a PC and edit with Premiere Pro, but I'm getting a new mac laptop and I'm just wondering if Final Cut Express is worth it. It's 300 bucks, which is considerably cheaper than the full version of Final Cut.

Any body know anything about it?

I believe on the Apple site there's a way to compare the two programs side by side to see which one fills your needs. Express is basically just a very watered down version of Pro but I mean if it meets what requirements you have for editing now, then by all means go for it. If you see that you may need some of the things in Pro...I'd save up. Though the Pro package is extremely pricy, it comes with a lot of useful things (LiveType, Soundtrack, Cinema Tools...) that may come in handy, therefore making the larger purchase more effective in the long run. In a nutshell though, if Express is all you need at the moment, then go for it. Otherwise it's to the piggy bank...

Edit: Here is the comparison site.
