Can someone give me a site that has a good introduction tutorial for premier pro. There are so many tutorials that i don't know where to start because i don't know what these tutorials are trying to teach me. i need a tutorial that will teach me the basics so i can take it from there. So please if you know of one or more tell me what they are.
I posted this also in General filmmaking discussion because i didn't know where the best place would be to post it. so sorry if people will get frustrated.

If you're new to video editing in general, I'd start out with a more primitive software. If you have windows, you'll probably have Windows Movie Maker. Shoot some random footage, upload it on your computer and just try every button. That's how I learned. It's much more fun than reading a tutorial, and much less frusterating than ravaging every tutorial and helpfile trying to find one function at a time. The learning might be slower, but at least you're creating something while you do it.

If you you've got a mac, you should have iMovie. I remember a few years back in school we went through a pretty good tutorial in the help files to learn how to use it. If you have iMovie, I suggest looking into it.

I disagree... If you have a PC you should try beginning on adobe premiere pro... I learned on the adobe premiere six version, its basically the same thing, just less flashy. All of the premiere programs are very intuitive. You can do what I did and download a version off limewire and crack it for Free!!!

That's not really breaking the rules, he's stating that he got his version of Premier Pro on limewire, not asking where to find a copy for free.

I think near everyone here knows of file sharing programs and how they work, so "You can do what I did and download a version off limewire and crack it for Free!!!" should be a statement without consequence. Personally, I use them all the time for all sorts of stuff. Sure I'd steal a 400.00$ editing software from the internet. Just like I'd steal a 5000.00$ dollar camera if I had the chance. I'd beat your brother over the head with a wrench to get to it too.

Sorry, having a bad day. I'm going to go hit something.

I, for one, bought my copy of Ppro and I feel like I stand in the minority in that respect on these forums. So mentioning a file-sharing program shouldn't be a shocker here.

How does Premier Pro make a profit? Wow...

By the way, depending on your time frame, I've always found that messing around the with Premier Pro after importing any kind of video - this is the most productive way of learning for me. More hands on I guess. If you think reading more into it would help, go for it. But just working your way through the program does wonders.
