I'm running FCP4 but this could be for anyone really. I was just wondering (with no color correction etc) if you all render your clips one at a time or render all of them at once at the end?

I usually do them one at a time just so I can see what I'm working with. If it's a lot of rendering that will take a long time, I wait till the end and just leave it to run overnight or something.

I usually render every time I am done a scene, or even a big part of a scene. I export as one file, and do cinelook and just let that sit, since it's a huge render.

on FCP3

if it's going to take less then five minutes (i.e. reverb on some audio, fliped video, stabilizer, too many tracks, custom fade, etc) then i just eat a chocolate or something. if it's bigger (overlaid effects, massive blur, slowmotion effects combination, rain and sky enhancments and stuff) then i go do something else. either way i seem to render as i go. i've never encountered anything that wasn't done in under an hour and a half. for 3d graphics i do it overnight, or while i'm out. if i'm awake or near the computer i can't help but check on it... and 3d stuff takes HOURS so that's not good.
