Photoshop is the program i use for all my titling.. and love it. It's my favorite program; very powerful. And to make your titles do more than just sit there and look pretty? ... it's After Effects. (all made by Adobe)

Do you mean the bullet time B.S that's been done in like 50 films? or where the camera spins around the subject while he or she is in slow motion? Either way, don't use it in anything that alot of people will see. It is highly un-original, annoying, gay, un-original, and time consuming.

I was referring to how the picture stops and the camara pans around a 3D image. I know it's been done before. Tell me something that hasn't. The VP of AFC proposed the idea of filming the floor for thirty minutes. I told him "Can't, It's been done before." What do you suggest? If I'm not to use anything that's been done before, what do I do? I disagree with you about it being gay. I like the fact that you would personify an editing technique though. Also, saying that was ripping off "The Matrix" would be foolish. That's the movie that made it popular, but if I used it for a different purpose than "oh wow, look at the editing!" then it's not ripping off the movie. You could say the same thing about a point "wonderful" camera shot. So what if it looks good. I just wanted to know how to do it. I've seen it done on a very amature video and I thought wow that would work in something I'm doing. What is it called??? I hate referring to that trick at "it". Thank you.

Yes, it's called Bullet Time and it isn't gay. It is a very awesome technique that has been overused by people who copy the Matrix. But what are you gonna do? We're all ameteurs!
Some people think little of me because I don't post movies. Just wait, grasshopper, and I will blow you away...

AFC President, it's one thing to do something that's been done before. Horror movies have been done before. The F-word has been done before. But things like bullet time are movie-specific fingerprints...there is only one true, original portrayal.
Some movies, maybe one or two, like Swordfish for example, are brothers of the Matrix in terms of this fingerprint. You see, they have sort of similar fingerprints, being that they come from the same genetics with a natural predisposition to "doing it well", and can pull it off really nicely...I'd even say the bullet time in Swordfish raised the bar on the trick...but after 1 or 2 other movies do the same gimmick, the fingerprint is just a cheap rip off..in fact, it's no longer a fingerprint but an evil smudge of unoriginality.
You are going to be that kid who did "the really bad version of something that was obviously ripped off from the MAtrix, and on a lesser note, Swordfish, Scary movie, Duece Bigelow: Male Jiggalo, Osmosis Jones, House of the Dead: The movie, Shaolin Soccer, the anamatrix, Wing Commander: The movie, matrix 2, matrix 3, Fight Club, Charlies Angels, probably Charlies Angels 2, Max Payne, NFL Blitz and I'm sure some future Hugh Grant romantic comedy where he plays a charmingly clumbsy English guy."
So if you do bullet time, you will probably get a really gross STD. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
Ok, the camera spinning thing is not called "bullet time" Bullet time is a trademark of the actuall bullets, moving in slo mo, followed by those waves. The 3-D shot was done several times before "The Matrix" including "Wing Comander" and "Lost In Space"
As far as pulling it off in the amatuer realm... Ive seen it done once or twice. It seemed like they shot one set up from one angle, and one from another, and then used a combination cut and paste, with morphing. As for the actual specifics of how it was pulled off, I couldnt tell ya. R. M.
All the previous bullet time effects (with the exception of swordfish) look in on the subject and go around in a circle. Why not do a POV and look away from the subject traveling in a circle.
I'm just brainstorming, but don't feel that just because something has been done several times doesn't mean you can't do it. All films rip off something. You should, however, be aware how the audience will react to this effect, having seen it several times before. With the example of this forum, some of the audience didn't like the idea.
As far as doing it with only one camera, it's impossible to do it live (think 3d modeling). You could, however, do it with one camcorder and a few dozen still cameras (either digital, SLR, or even disposable). The concept is simple, execution is difficult.
