Okay, so I have been using Final Cut Pro for a while now and I am pretty familiar with it and all. But there is one thing that really pisses me off. Every time I add audio, it's all choppy. Except for aiff files. They are the only ones that work. Which means that I have to burn a CD off iTunes every time I want to add audio. Any other way to do this or any way to convert mp3 to aiff? OR, is there a way to make the skipping stop? Why does it only let me put aiff files on!!!!????!!

you're not supposed to edit with .mp3 files, they're too compressed.

there's converters, but it might sound worse just because they have to make up the difference on information (for example a heavily compressed song may have no low end and so the low end sounds noisy on aiff)

QuickTime pro converts pretty well for $20. Never had a problem with it. Its irritating having to convert them though!

Remedy: Use iTunes to convert the songs into aiff files. Yeah, the whole incompatibility with .mp3s angered me as well. But it's not that hard if you just convert them in iTunes. Go to PREFERENCES and then IMPORTING and then select AIFF Encoder.

Converting into AIFF through iTunes is very simple - you don't even need QuickTime Pro.

Why do you need to use MP3s?
