What do you search for on Google the most? Filmmaking stuff? Anything in general?

Personally I've been plugging in "hvx" to see if there are any more reviews about the camera.

Also, just out of curiosity, if you found this site via Google...what did you search for? What are your most common filmmaking searches?

I use Google for everything under the sun. Any tiny spec of information I may need. Names, places, companies, terms, spelling checks on words which Word doesn't know, movies. Google is my life... or my life is Google. I can't remember which. I'd have to Google that.

Yeah - I'm a news.google.com junky too.

What did we do before Google - heck - what did I do before the internet? I've used computers forever - the internet for me really didn't happen until I got to college and we got these weird things called "e-mail" addresses. Smile hehe

It's changed a lot in 10 years.

Heck Google is a verb now.

I particularly love the new things they cook up at labs.google.com, and the projects that graduate from there, like maps.google.com and local.google.com and the ability to text queries to GOOG on your cellphone.

And of course, Google Earth is the coolest thing ever created.

yeah, cause Canadians know ALL about democracy you socialist pigs . . . sorry HDK, I had to Smile

Google is a the greatest thing to hit the internet since flash animation. I use it for just about everything, now all they need is email accounts. I knew there was talk about getting them, but I didn't hear anything else.

GOOGLE FUN! type in "elmer fudd" (minus the "") and hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button.
Another one is "French Military Victories" (minus the "") and hit the same button.
Funny stuff . . . funny stuff.

Forsaken, they DO have email. Go to gmail.com - it's the best web mail there is. 2GB+ of space.

The fact that google does everything scares me a little. I don't really like the idea of one company archiving every email I send and receive, every search I do, every map or satellite image I look at, and every google video or book I view. Sure, they say 'do no harm'. But that fact that they document and archive everything you do means that years from now, when the 'do no harm' creed has worn off, someone can revisit what you were looking at. Could be fodder for McCarthyist witch hunts. Of course that's me just being paranoid. But that is why I don't use gmail or have a google account.

joren, you can permanently delete an email if you want to. It's just that gmail's first delete function is to "archive" it; after that, you can select it again and choose to permanently delete it if you so choose.
