Ah. Good idea. I just happen to have this photo of myself from a recent shoot, where I was wielding a Soviet Arri-S16 wrapped in a sound blanket and outfitted with a death-laser for killing freedom fighters.
Not the best picture of me, but its who I'm with that counts!

It's the 16S - is there a difference with the 16S and the 16SP?
It depends on if you meant 'Soviet' or not... the Russian camera is called the 16SP. It doesn't really have a manufacturer name, for obvious reasons. The 16S is an Arriflex. I wasn't sure from the pic which it was.
Ohhh... I was mostly kidding about the Soviet part. It is Russian, or German maybe, as it counts meters and not feet, but it is definitely an Arri. I call it Soviet because our camera tech defected from the Soviet Union and still doesn't speak English very well 30 years later. Is camera. In Russia, we have joke. Camera like Mickey Mouse. If you have ze dust or scratch, your film will be like jungle, because big and large.

Good for NYU... anyone from the former Eastern Bloc is good with film and visual arts in general, as Spielberg and Tarantino surely know (knew, in the latter case. Don't think he's worked with Sekula in a while)
Arri has never made a camera in Russia, for the record. just W. Germany and (briefly) some items in France.
Oh yeah, these guys are great. We've got an entire secret communist society in the tech department. My favorite is Victor, this 80-year old guy who runs the ADR/Foley studios. Just an amazing person. He's got a poster on his wall that says "RUSSIA: Come visit us, before we visit you."
