I actually didn't like the opening credits in Casino Royale. They weren't quite finished enough. I could see how they did each effect. It was so close to being perfect, but not quite there. Hmmm.... The Eye does a neat thing with braille and this creepy hand shadow on cloth for all the titles. Very cool and stylish. | PerryKroll.com | TRC | "If not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled." Wodehouse

Don't want to step on anyone's toes here, but being a fan of Bond opening credits I was pretty disappointed with the ones in Casino Royale. I mean... shooting hearts from the gun? Painful. Off the top of my head: • The remake of Dawn of the Dead Johnny Cash was a great choice, and the 'blood splatter' title text was cool and fitting. • Dexter So it's not a movie but the opening credits are well shot, well scored and just deliciously twisted. • Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence Great concept, perfectly executed. • Once Upon a Time in the West Not sure if this counts because it's more of a dedicated opening scene with credits overlayed than a credits sequence in and of itself, but its definitely an awe-inspiring piece of filmmaking. Metal Gear Solid 3, the videogame, had a pretty cool opening sequence too.

Very true, I loved it. Just saw it today, actually. Also, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, like Larry said before. That Leone, he makes a mean opening credit sequence. EDIT: Also, the beginning of the Departed was stellar. Both the sequence of the Boston riots, as well as the first 20 mins which blew me away. 2nd EDIT: Sorry, had to squeeze this one in, The Science of Sleep. The paint swirls to go along with Stephane's dream sequence of his father was dare I say, magnifique. For anyone who saw it and speaks spanish, you ahd to laugh when he said, "Eso no es Duke Ellington, eso es un pato! Eso es un Pato Ellington!" I had to laugh out loud there. It set the tone for the entire film and was one of my favorite parts of one of my favorite films.
