Don't worry moderators out there. This isn't one of those movies hosted on someone's own site kind of thing. I just wanted to share with you, my other website. It's called Jick Design and here I mostly do web design, and graphic design. Unfortunally, I can't get all the stuff I made on there yet (Bandwidth sucks!). But you know. I also am making my own themes for Mac OS X now. Since I'm so obsessed with them, I figured what the hell. What I mainly want you to see is the flash. Can I get some feedback on that please? Thanks. Here it is:

Smile

You know my opinion on flash, so I won't bore you with it Big Grin

Just remember that the average web visitor's attention span is 5 seconds or less Wink Wink

It did look nice, I'll give you that. Very nice.

It was nice, but the Flash file was way too big. It took ages to load on broadband. I think you should make the physical dimensions of the file smaller.

Also, it took me a while to work out that I had to click on the logo in order to enter the main site after the animation had played. It would be better if the "enter" text appeared automatically as a hint instead of when you hover over it.

Finally, I like the idea of the lines criss-crossing the screen but in my opinion they'd look better if they were crisp solid or crisp dotted lines, not a combination between the two. That's just my personal preference.

Other than that, it looks very promising Smile

Nice site, but the flash page took forever for me too, might want to fix that.

Thanks guys. I'll try and make it smaller. It's going to be even more bigger later when I get all the pictures on there. So I dunno.

I also looked at the file size of the document. It's only 505 KB.

Yeah... 505KB. It only took about five seconds on my Verizon DSL...

Can Flash be engineered so that the pictures load once you get to the pages, rather than before? That would be better, if you're going to be adding a bunch of them.

The wait I'm talking about is the wait between sections of the site. While the lines fly around. It drives me batty Smile

Yeah. I can do that. Actually that is not a bad idea.

I really like the design of your site. And the transitions were cool. But getting to the substance of your site took way too long. I agree with Perry in that portholes and other flash splash screens are a total waste. That's one peeve I have with films and multiple production companies. Get me to the goods as fast as possible.

Yeah, to be honest, if you hadn't specifically requested people to review your Flash site, I would have chosen the HTML one.

The HTML one is a totally different website. That's the one were I host my own movies on and then I send them to SF. The one that I wanted people to see was the Jick Design webiste. The one you were talking about, was Jick Pictures.

I'm also working on making an HTML website for the Jick Design website as well.
