Well - my Saturn's engine died with only 55,000 miles on it....so I went out and got a Honda Civic Hyrbid.
I could have fixed my 2001 Saturn for 5k (ouch) but I was so mad at Saturn I didn't want that car anymore so I sold it to them and took my losses. (the car was all paid for thank god)
The Civic is awesome. It really is a great car. Now I can own a hybrid but not drive a Prius like everyone else out here in LA.
Plus I'm getting 50mpg city. woot woot.
BTW - this nightmare is why I haven't been on the forums recently. Was trying to figure out what my new mode of transport would be. That and I'm cutting a doc for 12-15 hours a day - take your pick.
50mpg seems pretty lame after riding around in a Honda Insight (and its 70mpg!)for a few weeks.
I'm sure riding in a toaster oven like the Insight seems pretty lame after riding in a soundly-designed car like the Civic.
Honda had an article a few weeks ago about that girl who played Pocahontas buying a new fuel cell-powered FCX. Man, those things are so cool. Disappointingly, it still runs off hydrogen, not corn.
Chris, I'll let you know when I see Honda has written an article about your purchase...

Oh I wont deny that the Insight looks hilariously pathetic. But only having to buy gasoline twice a year is worth it
