you could buy the remake rights for less. So a million dollars instead of 2. I dunno, i made up those numbers, but beatles songs are some of the most, if not the most, expensive songs to license. On a side note Steven king will sell you the rights to produce one of his books for a buck.

well the rule of thumb when it comes to this sort of thing is to note the following:

-Are u showing this to a national audience?
-Are u trying to make money off this?

Now someone is going to post after me "it doesn't matter if ur making money off of it or not, ur stealing and that's why ull be sued for all ur worth blah blah blah." So consider this last note:

Do u really think the person w/ the rights to the Beatle's songs now (Michael Jackson) is going to care if some indie-filmmaker is putting a Beatle's song into their cruddy little movie (not assuming ur a bad filmmaker, but u know what i mean)?

Well, sooner or later hes gonna go bankrupt from these lawsuits and look for somebody to sue. Smile

P.S. This film will be entered in film festivals.

AFAIK festivals REQUIRE written licenses for any music used in the film. that would rule out the "no one will care" option.
