I have started to think why people who allways complains about effects in movies made by computer, why do they even bother go to the movies?

If you don't like effects download or rent/buy black & white movies or movies from the 60's or 70's. They don't have alot of effects and they acctually really good. Sometimes even better than the new movies.

Just giving a hint to them who can't make up their minds...

I personally don't mind effects, to an extent. When the effects over take the movie (and aren't convincing enough) the new stars wars are a good example. But when people, such as Rodriguez in Once Upon a Time In Mexico use their effects sparingly, and just when needed (safety, no guns, whatnot). I love when movies don't use any just because I know that they put that much more into the movie, and it's also more realistic looking. That's why I like The Italian Job quite a bit.

Don't worry, I don't go to the movies to see those crap fests. Yes, just about every new movie has computer generated crap in it, but then there's ones that don't. Like a great little film called Napoleon Dynamite.

I go to the movies when I want to see a MOVIE. Not a video game projected onto a huge screen (a lame video game BTW, where I can't even participate in the gameplay)

uhm, there's more movies in theatres without effects than with.

you don't have to rent old movies to watch movies with out effects.

what i really hate is that most studios don't give the effects people enough time to do the effects properly. most the big action ones have really terrible looking effects, whereas movies that allow time for the effects end up looking pretty amazing like Amelie or Eternal Sunshine.

the other thing is that when you see videos or commercials, the effects are very seamless and look great, and yet even in big movies like last two Matrix, they end up looking rubbery and cartoonish. maybe it has to do something with film and it being projected. i don't know, but i'm always surprised as to why smaller productions have better looking effects than features.
