Hey all (said the newbie, trying unsuccessfully not to be utterly self-conscious),

I'm an educationall media wonk who is working for a great client that produces stop-motion animation software (Xipster). My cool boss feels that the company is solid enough now to allow us to do a fund-raiser for a worthy cause, but no one on the team can agree on which cause. So I'm here asking you all. Please- this is legit. I didn't step back fast enough & now I am the one who has to make the final call on this by next week. Everyone here has different ideas ranging from poverty to childhood obesity, from AIDS in Africa to tsunami orphans. I feel like we need to support a cause that our audience supports, so that we are double-serving our audience (I hope that makes sense). What is a charity or cause that really SPEAKS to you- animators/filmmakers?

Thanks for your feedback. I seriously do appreciate it!

Kimberly

Come on. Are you seriously telling me that no one out there has a cause or a specific charity that really speaks to them? Don't make me have to figure this out on my own. I'm a total dork from Iowa- I have no idea what causes are relevent to you all. I have 1 more week before I tell my boss which cahrity we should suppot. Please, somebody out there in this world has to give a flying hoot about something (I hope).

Well, being as your company is a software company, animation software nonetheless, I'd suggest childhood obesity. I mean seriously the world needs more fat, animation-obsessed geeks like I need another hole in my head. So sayeth the fat man.
