Well, I "encountered" Matt Damon when he was in my home town shooting Ocean's 12. By encountered I mean: walked by him about 10 feet away. He was surrounded by security guards.
Oh yeah, and how can I forget. The girl in the R. Kelley video (who he urinated on) went to my high school. She sat two desks away from me my freshman year. (no joke) She's...kind of famous isn't she??

Ive never really met a celebrity on the street. One of the guys from BLink 182 ran into me leaving a bathroom at the movie theatre. I have met alot of celebs during the san diego comic-con though. David cross, Brian posehn, matt groenig, kevin smith... just walking around the convention center. Scared the hell outta Quentin Tarantino there when I said" hey, its quentin tarantino" and a million fanboys turned around and lunged at him, he ran off. Sorry about that QT
Meeting Damon and Affleck was pretty cool. I met them at a party in Boston; I actually talked to Matt for about 10 minutes.
But I'd say a cooler experience was when I met Jean-Claude Van Damme. One of my roommates at NYFA Universal was his son, so he dropped by a few times. We made a stupid film with him called Watch Your Back, which is on this site somewhere. It's completely awful and we planned and shot it in a rush; we just did so we could say we made a film with him. But it was a great experience because he gave us his personal contact info and told us to call him if we had any ideas.
We also got to see his new film, before it hit the mainstream.

I have had the pleasure of meeting several over the eyars. I will second that Matt Damon is VERY cool. Chatted with him at a film fest in Fl. and he even helped me burn them for being dicks (long story)
Also met Director Brett Ratner, Chris Tucker, Robert Evans (former president of Paramount) Michael Jackson, Adrien Brody (pics of me with some of them and some without me ) Anthony Hopkins, Ed Norton, Michael Clarke Duncan.
Other then that I met a few when I worked at the Ritz Carlton. Rod Stewart, Rachel Hunter, Cindy Crawford, Rebbeca Romain,(before Stamos) Vendella, Denzel Washington, Loni Anderson. Most nice, some not. Also sort of met Will Smith, Martin Lawrence and Michael Bay on set of Bad Boys 2 but.. didnt actually meet them, just saw them.
So... theres my list. R. Michael

LOL Funny how knowing someone isnt worth jack if they dont "know" you.
Just to clarify, everyone on my first paragraph list I shook hands with and chatted with, except for Michael Jackson (who doesnt chat with anyone over the age of 15... and NO thats not a kiddie toucher joke, he trusts very few adults)
As for my time at the Ritz, few of them count unless "Put my bags over there." Or "I'm ready for my escort down to the ballroom" counts as a conversation. Actuall Rod Stewart stayed there often, and on more then one occassion I helped carry his kids up to bed from the car they were sleeping in. He would chat a little, actually a nice guy. As where the Rolling Stones who came down to the security office and chatted with us after they were pleased with how we kept the press away from them during their stay (They were on the Voddoo Lounge tour and signed some tour stuff for us) I also saw Hillary Clinton while working there, she spoke at a fund raiser dinner. Although I rode in the elevator with her and the secret service, we didn't speak. (I did however hang out with the secret service guys who were very cool, as were the federal marshalls who would come on occassion to guard the odd foreign dignitery that woudl stay there. PLus I got some high level security clearence since I was standing in the same elevator with the President.. er.. I mean, His wife.)
Truth be told the only reason I have met these people is because I will start a conversation with anyone. Celebrities can be a little stand offish because of weird fans and such, but if you just talk to them like normal people (which they are) they tend to be very receptive. R. Michael
