I hate reality TV! Absolutely hate it! Is it as popular and annoying overseas as it is in Australia? Bring back some good quality scripted shows! I hate reality TV!

Not only is it as popular in the States, but FOX (who else?) has a new one coming out - about taking a white family and an African-American family and swapping the Moms or the Dads or something like that. DOH!

Do they have AUSTRALIAN IDOL down under?

reality tv was semi-cool during the first survivor, and then after that it sucked. the other day i realized that on network television there are only four types of shows really, reality, drama, crime and law (which still kind of go together). CBS used to run quite a few different action shows (most horrible), but i guess they think that nobody wants that stuff anymore. The only recent show that is action i can think of is smallville, but that's not like really actionous most the time.

The thing that gets me is that the reality tv shows arent even reality anymore, i mean some of the people on it are from other reality shows, and the people act totally different from normal. I HATE the stupid dating shows where all it is is a game to get to a bed and "dance" horizontally. I am a real actor and im taking it back for the true thespians. Reality tv is going down.

Do you have Big Brother in the States? If not, you're lucky. For reasons unbeknownst to me, it's really popular here in England with people who have no lives of their own. If you don't know what it is, it's basically several people in a house together and the public gets to vote people out of the house every so often. It's not even "reality" because they all know that the cameras are there, and they play to the cameras to avoid being voted off, so it's not exactly realistic in any shape or form.

And then the people on the show become "celebrities" and are asked onto all sorts of chat shows, where they talk about their experiences in the house. It's a bloody house, for god's sake! It's not even midly exciting.

The last time I watched TV was several months back, when I tuned in for the last episode of an intelligent programme (one of the last intelligent programmes to be broadcast, might I add).

What is the world coming to?

I pretty much hate all reality TV shows, except for Joe Schmo 2 on SpikeTV. That show is hilarious. Of course, it's basically a spoof of reality TV, so maybe that's why I like it.

yeah, Big Brother is here in the states. Its a stupid show, but my family is obsessed with it.

In this new season, each house member has a TWIN, and their TWIN comes in and replaces the sibling, and if they aren't caught (other guests find out the twins are switching back and forth) then BOTH twins can compete in the house.

but yeah, the show is retarded...its bascically a sad attempt to get people to have sex on camera (which has happened each time I think, or close)

Now, if they got two twins to bone one of the guys, I'd probably watch it.

Unfortunatley yes. Just as Big Brother 4 is ending that brought on Australian Idol 2.
I was much happier watching repeats of Seinfeld.

Reality T.V. is getting way out of hand, especially with these Bachelor mimics. Survivor has become completely overrated and boring to watch. I think the only station that plays not-so-bad reality shows is MTV. Real World, Road Rules, Battle of the Sexes, Room Raiders, Boiling Boints, and The Assistant are good for some laughs and general entertainment. I must also say that the Apprentice had me hooked, but i'm sure the following seasons wont be as commendable as the first. Later Wink

I think the only thing worse than the show themselves are the 15 minutes of fame given to people like Paris Hilton.

I love how after you star in a reality TV series you're suddenly up to par with celebrities, and get to go to movie screenings, and the Oscars.

I remember after the first season of Survivor a bunch of castaways were on an episode (s) of Nash Bridges. It was actually a pretty good episode, I remember one scene with a guy getting shot in the ass by accident.

Reality TV is for people that don't have a life. Which apparently includes a lot of people. Come to think of it, so are internet forums. What am I doing?!?

p.s. I'm awesome!

yeah, and we can have an Anti-Oscar PArty, where we watch all the movies that should've been nominated for Oscars in the past (or should've won)
