So I see there was a thread with almost the same name "Guilty Pleasure Movies" in looking for your Chronicles topic...but I couldn't find the thread you referred to.
I really liked the art direction in Chronicles, and it was a fun story. Of course, it was over-the-top phallic, but there are way worse action movies out there with laughable plot pretenses. At least this had sci-fi/fantasy behind it and super-cheesy dialogue.
I'm going to watch Pitch Black again. I can hardly remember it.

I found Chronicles' action-sequence-editing style retina destroying. Though you're right Karen: the art direction was definitely interesting. Though I think Pitch Black deserves more credit for what they were able to do with that budget. It was funny how half the cast were Aussie.
My guilty pleasures: - Naked Gun 2 1/2 (a classic) - Blues Brothers (The Original) - The Monty Python Films - The Hunger (first 20 minutes - eating NY clubbers to Bauhaus) - Nadja ('90s b/w experimental vampire film about the relatives of Dracula hanging around NY having bisexual encounters and listening to Portishead.)

Actually I finished my BA in Sydney last year, put together my Film School Apps and then left Australia for good to travel. I'm currently in China studying Mandarin. And cum mid-August I'll be in USC.
