Now, to get things started, a question for Hill Dawson Kane;
Do they show American Idol in Canada?

and I question this cause its not USA IDOL, its AMERICAN. And isn't Canada part of North America? Or is American just the USA, and NORTH American USA AND CANADA?

i would like to make the point that Willaim Hung is more famous, popular, and talented than all of the other world idols, euro idols, brit idols, canadian idols, and all other "idol" shows. i meen kelly clarkson and ruben just suck. it would be good to build a show on something more than god given talent, i meen, it would be nice if they upped themselves a level from britney spears and at least wrote ONE song for themselves. i hate reality tv, but maybe thats becasue i dont live in reality

and now id like to ask a question to all of the canadians out there:
Q. What do you think of the prospect of changing our legal tendered currency to Canadian Tire Money? I meen down in east hastings vancouver they use it to sniff cocaine, every household in canada has a jar full of 10cent bills, lets just make it official, what do u think?

As for the geography of it all, I agree that Canada is part of North America, but I've always thought of AMERICAN IDOL as US-American, not North. But that's just my narrow-minded views!
Now the big question (for HDK, from a non-Canadian) - what the heck is Canadian Tire Money?
Well, in Canada we have a major outlet chain of stores called "Canadian Tire" (they sell more than tires though). Whenever you spend say 10 bucks u get like a 1 percent refund on it which is 10cents. but instead of giving u a dime, they give u a 10 cent canadian tire money bill that is only redeemable at canadian tire. if u are american or canadian or anything and would like to learn more about canadian tire and its money, go here: http://www2.canadiantire.ca/CTenglish/ctmoney.html

Hence the name - Canadian Tire Money! Thanks for the explanation.
How many people actually hold on to the ten-cent piece of paper? I would think businesses do that because they know that most (some?) will simply throw-away/lose the certificate.
we (my family) dont shop there that much but we use it as more of a joke. we usually keep the 50cent to dollar ones just lying around or in a money jar before the next time we go there but its no biggie. i know ppl who shop there lots and have a good sized jar full of em. and right at the exit theres a box that if u dont want the money and put it in there they send a donation to a charity or something like that. i was just mentioning it cause in my new film its the big joke that they use canadian tire money to do cocaine. i think its just been a 50+ year tradition and all.

Seriously, why do they need to be so much like caves? To drive tanks around?

MONK wasn't bad tonight. The stories are always a little far-fetched, but there is always something to make me laugh. The kid that needed cough-drops and the chair with the uneven legs was pretty funny.
I'm not sure I want to see him dance a "jig" again!
last night's monk was not that great compared to some. i watched some of the first season on dvd - it's got way more cunning plotlines and much better filming, and it's funnier.... ah well
oh yeah, the jig, that was, um, well, yeah
