k, I have never played xbox on my 57 inch wide screen, rear projection for fear of it harming the TV. Say if i play my xbox on it for 2 hours will it harm the TV in anyway? I also have a high def pack for my xbox, so will this help in anyway?

My uncle plays on his rear projection and he's never had any trouble with it, nor have I heard of a problem happening with a rear projection. Although I heard you can't leave a game paused on a plasma screen for over 10 mins or something or else it might freeze the screen.

I myself have heard that you should never hook any game system up to a projection tv (it will burn the bulb out of it)

The problem you're asking about is called Burn in, and occurs if a still image is left too long on a monitor. (Old arcade games, like pacman, have terrible burn in). Personally I have a rear projection tv (46") and play games on it all the time, sometimes for 4-5 hours, no problem. Burn in used to be a huge problem (why PC's have screensavers) but I think that most manufacturers have found ways to greatly decrease it these days. Also keeping your contrast and brightness low-ish seems to reduce it. Heres some other topics that might help:
