Hello all, I just wanted to introduce myself on the forums. My name is Wilbert Roget, and I'm a composer for film and videogames/interactive media. I'm very interested in composing for action/drama/fantasy/scifi titles especially, and have extensive experience writing grand epic scores. My specialty is making your film sound as "big" or as "intimate" as the project needs, using realistic and expressive sampled orchestras to get a Hollywood quality sound.

Please take a look at my website, http://www.rogetmusic.com/ , to hear samples of my work and look at some of my previous credits and bio.

I look forward to many successful collaborations with you guys! Smile

Hey Will, Your Music samples were impressive. I've been looking for someone that is actually talented at pc based orchestra suites. I would be interested to see if you would like to score our newest film "The Hit". Our main reasons is so it can be entered into film competitions, and the music it currently has is copyrighted. We primarily want to copy the music that is already there, But just change is slightly to avoid infringment problems. If you want to take a look at it its

Thanks, and get back to me when you can

Hey,

Saw your post on studentfilms.com, I tried to listened to your sample music, but it wouldn't down load. But since you specialise in Epic Fantasy music I think you could help the, "Quest for the Golden Rod" production. We have one composer working on it already, but having two would give us more choices and a variety of sound that this kind of film requires. Quest is a feature length fantasy film spoof that is being filmed in Olympia WA right now and need some Holywood-esk music. Specifically parodying various themes of the latest Hollywood Fantasy films.

What we need is music that resembles the main theme of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. I need action music in the style of Sword and the Sorcerer, and to have a short 30 second piece that resembles the opening music of Willow. Along with a fantasy-esk Introduction monologue moment and a comedy marching bit of music… I know this is vague but I’m just trying to communicate the sound I’m looking for. Of course since this is volunteer work, I’m not too picky and am open to artistic interpretation. You will be given a movie credit and your company logo / web address can be added at your request. I can send you a script upon request along with additional information. Our website is:

http://www.goldenrod.tk

You can download a copy of the script at the bottem of the page under the PLOT link.

What we are looking for exactly is:

In total I will need approximately 18 semi-short peices:

1 heroic instrumental credit sequence for 30 seconds

1 35 second “Once upon a Time” monologue sequence, it will be told in a series of PhotoShop altered Da Vinci paintings. The music I want should be kind of foreboding/dark and then pick up into a fast past chase sequence that is merge-able into the Willow-esk music.

I will need a willowesk opening chase scene that will last about 30-45 seconds

A battle sequence musical sections
1 being a 60 second Sword and the sorcerer style orchestral music with 5 major “hits”.

I will also need One 15 second loopable form of the sword and the sorcerer style orchestral music.

I will need one 30 second piece of Harry Potter general welcome to Hogwarts type intro music
And one loopable 10 second piece of the same.

I will need a three 2 second long high beats symbolizing a tentacle attack using the same willow esk “instruments”.

I need the Lord of the Rings style dramatic moment for about 45 seconds and the overture style music for about 30 seconds.

I also need a fantasy villain signature music in three different mixed lengths: 3-5 second, 30 second, and 60 second. Whether this is something original/ paradiseing LOTR or HP doesn’t matter.

Ok now this one will sound weird, but I need some piano or basic instrumental to go along with the public domain song Dry Bones.

I also need a 5-10 second goal achieved music kind of a glowing supernatural feel for when someone sees the Rod.

I will need a 15 second clip of “tavern” music (I’ll let you interpret that as you wish).

I will need one 5 seconds church like choir music.

I will need one 5 second dance club style music

Anything else you happen to have laying around or feel that it might fit but your not sure feel free to pass it on to me as well, I’ll see if I can’t integrate it.

What makes this project difficult to compose for is the fact that you are composing blind. The segments length has been determined, but since we have such a short production schedule we can't send the edited segments without music to you. Basically we will edit to your music rather than you compose to our visuals. Sounds weird, but it does work on occasion.

Signed,
William A. McDonald
