Ok, I'm done!

I posted the message above and realized I had some time, so I figured I better start from scratch this time.

So here's a rough version of this new, exciting track, created exclusively for SF's DVD!!! (yay!)

As I have sort of suggested before, some feedback would be nice, guys.

Nice work E.!
I really enjoyed the track.
I like how you've blended the acoustic percussion and electronic sounds.

That was neat. The guitar in the background was awesome. Not sure I dig the main melody instrument.

Can we try a version that's just the guitar bg - or a version that is using a different instrument for the main melody?

What's that instrument? The high pitched percussion beat. Xylophone?

Thanks again everyone.

Well, yeah... we can try a couple of things...

The percussion instrument you didn't like was supposed to be a pitched version of a Tabla sound, though some timbrical subtleties got buried in the mix and it did come out a bit Xylo-phony.

Here's some ideas:
Version 2 (Same thing, no percussion)
Version 3 (Same thing, low pitched perc. instead of high)
Version 4 (Different instrument playing the percussion part)

Alternate Download Site:
Version 2
Version 3
Version 4

Do we have a winner?

Peace,

E.

p.s.: thanks for the kind comments, Hawkes! I enjoyed your music as well.

EDM,

I like them. I'll give them a whirl in my cut. But they're really good. Thank again.

"A whirl in my cut"... Now that's a phrase you don't hear every day!

Cool, Chris, I'm glad you liked 'em. Just PM me when you know for sure, since you'll probably benefit from having better audio than 128Kbps mp3s.

I hope future contests lead to more projects like this.

As for the feedback I hoped to get from everyone else, I guess nobody reads this thread anymore, except for the parties involved... Maybe I'll start a new thread to see if I get any comments there.

E.
