I am looking to start composing for film. If you send me the video I can see if I can do anything then send it to you. If you like it keep it, if not, don't. Shoot me an email if you are interested.
P.S My web site is hip hop production but I can do thematic music.

Ok, there is a couple of things that I need to point out. First and foremost, this is WAY too early to look for a composer. If you haven't even started shooting, how can you possibly know exactly which composer's style will totally work with your film? And trust me, the end film will be different than you thought it might be. You should wait to look for a composer either mid-way through production or after the film is done (including sound effects because any sound can change the score dramatically). On top of this, if you change you mind and decide not to do the film or can't get up the means to, you will not have a VERY disappointed composer to tell. Second: The films you mentioned had more of a period placement soundtrack, with various bands of the 70's. Perhaps (again wait until you know exactly where the film is going atmosphere -wise) you should look for a band who has that style and use music placement instead. And last, you should try to offer SOME sort of compensation. Even if it is only $1 (but I am sure most people can scrounge up $40 or something). You have to take into consideration that the composer is going to have some expenses, like sending you CDs and long-distance calls and such. It would be very nice if you can cover those costs as we have rent to pay as well. Good luck! James W.G. Smith http://music.download.com/jameswgsmith
