Hi,

I am an older, experienced composer/songwriter with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Composition and Theory (1972) who would like to break into the film scoring world by working with up and coming film makers. I have a well equipped production studio and lots of great instruments and sample libraries.

I won't turn down money, but at this point, I am happy to work for credits and future consideration.

Made in China (Techno pop) A young man looking for work faces unemployment and outsourcing. The label says . . .

The Assassin (Rock) You really pissed somebody off and now the hit man has you in his crosshairs!

I tried to check out the music on your post and also on your website. But to be honest, 40 meg .wav files are hard on the bandwidth. I couldn't get them to stream and didn't have time to download. Do you not like .mp3?

Yeah, if you don't have hi-speed, you can't really experience my site.


However, if you have hi-speed, the .wav files stream with the greatest of ease, and sound is CD quality!!

Lee, I know you're trying to be true to your work, and posting only the highest quality files, but it is asking too much to have a 40 MB download. The truth is, the only people who can tell the difference between an MP3 and something better (a difference I only recently learned to notice) also know why they're hearing that loss in quality, and won't hold it against you. It's just a bad idea to post such huge files. No one will bother listening to them. I've got blazing fast internet, and I won't. I'm not trying to bash you or anything, just offering you my take on it, as an experienced web developer.

Glad you posted the .mp3s, Lee. I will check them out. I do have high speed, but for some reason .wav files don't stream, the browser wants to download them instead. And as Titanium said above, when faced with a 40 meg download, I will usually pass. I have Windows Media, Quick Time and WinAmp. I guess something is not setup right. MP3s stream no problem.

Hey Leon, I was just curious how long it took you to execute that new track you've uploaded. And I was also curious what instruments you've used. Of course--you don't have to tell me if it's a professional secret or something.

I did it on a weekend, probably spent 8 or 10 hours on it.

It was mostly EWQLSO Gold XP with a little bit of StormDrum. Loaded into Kontakt 2 with some scripts like SIPS and the ones that come with K2. The reverb was Logic Pro Space Designer.

Thanks for the compliment. I wish at least 1,000,000 people felt the same way 'cause then I could quit my day job.

The vocals were done by Billy Cowsill. He was part of the family band the Cowsills in the 60s that the Partidge Family (ugh!) were modelled after. The Cowsills two biggest hits were, Hair and Indian Lake. Billy's a great guy and we had a lot of fun recording it. He teaches school now and still plays.
