He isn't a student, but a very very independent filmmaker who financed the film himself for like $3000. My site includes student and independent filmmakers, but only really really independent like Chris. It is a briliant film and I'm gonna be giving away some copies on the site soon.(shameless plug)
How can I get a free copy, I do a lot of promoting for your site, so I think I deserve one!!
Cyos: I don't know how that film didn't do it for you, please explain why and tell me what does it for you. Cuz that film was f ucking brilliant. I am surpised it cost 3 grand though..weren't many scene changes etc. The masks freaked the shiat outta me, and I am jealous of how they could achieve such a creepy effect.
Posting on a message board is one thing, but Man I promote your site everwhere. Even on this site when studentfilms.com doesn't have what someone needs, I am the FIRST to refer them to your site.. especially for tutorials. I think it takes a lot more work to help people out and promote your site at the same time, then post a lot of messages on a board?
So I could go on your board right now, post 300 messages.. then I would get the DVD .. technically. Doesn't seem right.
If you don't look I'll force you to _=_

I see that on the production notes, but Im having a hard time believing it. There are certain textures there asociated with film. Stranger things have happened, but I would like to see some raw footage from this. Either way, it was a great looking piece though.

I'm gonna talk with chris about all the details of his film and get an article up. In regards to Irony, it is a contest to win the dvds so there has to be proof on my site that people are accomplishing something because I can't just take their word for it. The most active member on the board with real posts(no short one word ones to raise numbers) and the person who rewfers the most new members with get one. I appreciate your help and believe that you do promote the site everywhere, but when it comes to a contest I can just take a person's word. If you can show me all the promoting then I will send you a copy right away.
How big is the display you're watching it on? Maybe three inches by two-and-a-half inches? It was obviously lit well and color corrected, so when scaled down of course it will look more like film.
Even so, I have seen a TON of DV and film on this same viewing ratio. Given that, It looks REALLY film like to me. Almost to much texture there. If he had said he shot it on an ag-dvx100 I probablly wouldnt have questioned it, but Ive never seen anyone squeze that much out of a trv900. Bottom line is, if its film, its great looking, if its DV its mindblowing. Im impressed either way by the look of this piece. Im looking forward to that interview. R. Michael
