Hey guys, I just wanted to post this mockumentary that we did with Kansas basketball, because we've been getting a lot of positive feedback about it. It's a student film that I worked on with two other guys, and we had a blast doing it. It's pretty funny, and I hope that some of you will check it out. It's located at BreakmanX.com in the features section. It's the Self-Respect video, and I hope that you enjoy it. If you do like it, feel free to distribute it to whomever you'd like to, but just be sure to credit and link to BreakmanX.com. Thanks a lot, and once again, I hope you all enjoy the film.

I am a cheap college student. What's your point? I'm trying to get my name and my film out there, and this is a place to do it at. I don't have to put my film up on this site if I don't want to, especially if you're going to have me pay for something that I can already get from my current site. Especially when the forum says that I can make announcements about my film here, even if it's not posted here on this site.

Once again, you can find the film at BreakmanX.com

Please enjoy.

Well Jack you are correct. You dont have to put your film on this site. You also dont have the right to spam it on the boards. Chris is usually pretty cool about this. Most sites of the like would ban you imediatly and delete your post. Here Chris has a good heart and really wants film makers to show their work and discuss.

You might feel you can host it yourself but hundreds more people watch the films then even visit the boards. Plus you get real reviews that you can learn from and grow. As mentioned being a nerw member means you get it hosted for $10. For $10 you get one full ear of feedback with possibly thousands of views. What you do is your decision and while I might not agree with how it was said it still rings true. Jumping on the boards just to hock your own wares dosent often sit well with the loyal members who want to see this site florish. Most things are forgivable though. Just some food for thought.

Man, I like the fact that your making movies, but you have to be careful. Studentfilms.com is barely getting by. It doesn't need you to come in and advertise for your site. How would you like it if you had spent the last half of your life trying to put up a site as good as this and then somebody comes in and undermines it? It's only $20 (possibly $10) for a full year! I think if you have enough money to own and operate a camera and computer, you can spare 20 bucks if you want someone to see it.

it wasnt even as much the freeloading altogeather. i mean sure others do it. but they dont register the same day of their first freeload. thats just cheap. u dont even know who is gunna be watching your film. i dont have a problem with someone personally emailing me and having me view their film elsewhere cause they probly know me and want me to see it without begging for attention. sure you dont have to send it in. u could proby get away with freeloading forever (avec the death threats). but this site wouldn't exist if it werent for ppl sending their films in. and i would never put that in jeapordy becasue i have alot of respect for this site and most of the ppl on it.

also if youd ever taken a second to actually look through the site and converse, you would know about the distaste for freeloading.

I kinda agree with all of you who are aggrevated with those who join suddenly and expect to use this forum for their own good; however, I joined this forum recently and placed an advertisement for my upcoming film because this thread was called "filmmaker announcements". I thought this thread was intended for bragging. I have every intention of becoming a paying member of studentfilms.com when my film is finished, but I didn't think it was a good idea to join until i had something to contribute. Sorry
