My name is Chandler Mays and I have recently finished a short film called "Bottle Cap". It's a comedy and it recently one an award for best comedy at the Brookstone Inaugural Film Festival (not a major festival, but my first). It is 57 minutes long, just under an hour. I want to submit it to this site, but I wanted to run the plot by you guys before I did:

"Bottle Cap"

Two bumbling hitmen, Jones and Turtletaub (there's a running joke throughout the film about his name), have been given their first assignment to kill a man called Frank Esposito. But before they get to the house, Jones loses and forgets the address number. After a few snags, they finally get to the right house. When the get there, they find Frank Esposito... and he'r already dead. They eventually find out that he choked on a bottle cap (hence the title). Normally, their job would be over, but their employer is sick and twisted and wanted the murder to be videotaped. So now they have to videotape themselves "killing" Mr. Esposito's dead body. Many things go wrong (someone gets shot in the foot, a pizza boy shows up, a stripper shows up...) and tempers flare as the night progresses to it's climactic end...

So I have some questions for anybody who reads this:

A) What do you think of the synopsis?

B) Should I send it in to the site in two parts, or should I shorten it to 30 minutes (I currently have gotten it down to 36 min. and it's killing me because there's so much good stuff I had to cut out)?

C) Should I bother sending it in to studentfilms or should I try finding a site that takes hour movies.

Dammit, my two other films already on this site were also an hour long, but I cut them down for this. But cutting this movie down is killing me because every part of the movie is important to the characerization of these crazy characters. I need some advice from anyone who can give it. Thank you.

Chandler Mays

ps - There is SOME "Weekend at Bernies" type humor in this film, but it is by no means a rip-off. It's quite original all in its own.

Sounds great man, you may want to shorten the snyposis a little bit, not to reveal what certain characters show up. I find its always more exciting to have them come outta know where , as oppose to expecting them to show up because its in the plot.
I would cut it into to 30 minute peices for studentfilms.com , no use shortening it for a place that can very well accept it, just in two peices.

If you don't look I'll force you to _=_

Yeah, that sounds pretty funny...I hate it when things get cut out of movies for no reason. If you think that the things that you would cut would be funny to the rest of us, then just send it in two parts. But, if only certain people would understand, then there is no use putting them in. I do like how random people show up at this house when the hitmen are there...I will be looking forward to seeing this film.
