and we could totally sell out our films just like hollywood does thirs!! wow what an idea. and when some great student filmmaker has never won an award, we could give him one for a film/ performance that isnt even that great (al pacino and penn). then we could have popularity contests and give Julia Roberts an award for "Erin Brockovich" over ELLEN BURSTYN IN "REQUIEM FOR A DREAM" BECAUSE WE LOVE COMMITING CRIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry, i dont meen to totally shoot down ur ideas in my negative fasion

From your many posts on the subject, I can tell that you are really really upset about this whole Ellen Burstyn situation.
I just watched Requiem about 10 minutes ago actually, and I completely agree that she should have won.
On the topic's subject, I think that awards will create too much competition. Studentfilms.com is a place for filmmakers to learn together, and I think competitions might turn people against each other.
I don't see it happening in the near, or even distant, future.
What the hell is this? Who cares if he can't spell? So he forgot the "H" in "FASHION". BIG FRIGGIN' DEAL! It has nothing to do with people's views on things and whether or not they are capable of making a film.
I'm undecided on the topic. I think an awards thing would be sort of cool, but then again it may create fighting and be the wrong example and all that sort of stuff.
