Okay...I got my script written now and it's only the first draft but I think I'm on my way to something special here. Well, I hope so at least. I'm calling the film "Abomination" but that's all I can say right now or I might give some of the story away.

I'm starting the re-writes tomorrow and posting it online on an actors website, to get some talent, plus putting a team together to producer this thing.

My editor and 2nd DP is "Clyde Garrido", he made the film "Pretty Daisies". I'm really excited though and I'll keep ya all posted. I got mad questions to ask to about costumes too! So look out for them in a few days!

Besides filming, the only other thing I ever did good was filming.

Cool, cool...when do you think it'll be done and put on the site? The finished product of the film that is.

Do a search on google for the Library of Congress (this is where all copyrights are registered), and on the site there will be instructions as per how to register your final script with them. Also, visit the WGA (writer's guild of america) website for a "psuedo" copyright registration. The WGA option is cheaper and easier. I've registered with both in the past, and have no complaints about either option. Good luck.

The film should be here in July...maybe. I think the waiting period is up to about a month and a half now on the site so yeah. I'll try to put it up on some other sites before hand though.

Copy Rights? Well this is just a short so I'm not too worried, but I plane on doing some sort of protection I suppose.

A homeless man once told me that all you have to do is write copyright and your name next to it and then mail it to yourself or someone else and it's copywritten after it goes through the mail. Don't trust me on that one though. You can also do it over the web or regester your script with "Writers Guild of America West or East" it's something like $10 for non-members and $4 for members.

Registration Office:
Writers Guild of America, West
8955 Beverly Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90048
(213) 550-10000

Oh and I just checked up on that mailing to yourself thing...it's true according to Syd Field.

Hey everybody!

Yeah, so I threw up a casting call on Actors Northwest.com with a link to my films on this site and my script for "Abomination" on another site and I got an overwhelming response. My casting call has been up for little over 48hours and already I have about 20 people who have sent me head shots and want to audition for the 4 roles I have for the short film. I about wet myself when I opened my e-mail today to see all those responses. Plus, I have about 3 to 5 people who want to help out as crew...and this is only in the first two days! DAAAAAMM this is freaking cool!

WHAT I'M WORKING WITH-
I got two Panasonic "24 frames a second" cameras to use, a dope lighting kit, a make up artist from VFS, real talent actors(compared to what I've had in the past), wardrobe designer, one of the best editors in the North West, a "insightful" script supervisor, a brand new Avid system, a monitoring system on location and a crew who is excited as ever and all this from people who are working for free!! Yes free! Oh my god, I never knew so many people would help little old me out, it's amazing. One girl wrote to me today "I'm so excited I can't seee straight" now...I'm tempted to tell her I'm not that cool, but oh well, I'll let her find out on her own.lol.

I'll be posting pictures and more updates as they come...if you all even care, lol. I'll be around.

Besides filming, the only other thing I ever did good was filming.

Okay, so now I'm on to my auditions this Saturday and then again next Tuesday. It looks like I'll be picking from about 20 people for my four roles and I'm excited to see what they can give me in their auditions.

I'm having them bring a monologue and then doing some improv with them to test their emotional response.

I'm also getting my crew together and meeting lots of new people to get this film made. The people helping me are great and I think I'm on the brink of one of the most valuable and most important "keys" of film making. I might be a little pre-mature in saying this but...

"The key to making great films is to surround yourself with great people"

You can't go wrong when you have strong help around you. I'll keep ya'll updated...KEEP FILMING!

What kind of lighting kit do u get to use?

Is this all happening through your school or is this all on your own time free from school or whatever?

Good luck, and your right, keep a positive energy around you and the people you work with, good things will come!!

I'm not sure if the light kit is all one kind of kit. My lighting guy told me he "put it together" over the last year, so I think he just has a bunch of differnt kinds of lights, which make up his "kit". I'll know more this weekend after I meet with him.

And yes, this is outside of school and on my own time. I'm trying to get one more extensive short done before I go to film school and I also want to spread the word of "Marcus Wayman" . You'll you what I'm talking about when the film drops.

Oh and "IRONY" what part of Canada do you live in? Not BC right? If so, I live about 2 hours from you in Seattle.

I have quite an extension of friends out in B.C. but there all into making snowboard flicks, its what they love and there good at it. Its what got me started!

Good luck with everything

Yeah I use to skate and making skating videos is what got me into film making as well. I think it gave me a unique "eye" for filming. We where always filming on the go and filming moving objects in all kinds of weather and situations.

I'm very grateful for that past experience. Not to mention the different editing style it required, I'm sure snow boarding video editing and filming is much the same as skating.

Besides filming, the only other thing I ever did good was filming.

Ya being an avid skater definately helped me out with filming. The skateboard is the coolest dolley out there!

Loved to see some of your skate films if its possible?

I could probally find some trailers from the movies we have produced.
