My brother and I just graduated from the Art Center College of Design's graduate film program. It was a really good two years. And what I can say about film school is that it really helps you know if you are willing to go through the hell of being a filmmaker, cause it can be Hell, let me tell you. It also 'made' me be a filmmaker, I had to constantly shoot project after project and go to countless classes, all of which I feel made me a better filmmaker. I've been a filmmaker for a long time and decided to go to film school to get me to another level.

I really do think that some people don't need film school, I can say that without hesitation. But I'm saying it to those who work their asses off making films. It's a hard racket, everyone wants to be a filmmaker, but there are those that do it because they love it and they want to be succesful. For example look at Stephen Reedy, he was a constant blogger and fellow student filmmaker here on the student films web site, he didn't go to film school because he didn't need to. He was already willing to do what was necessary to make films. I on the other hand needed a good swift kick in the a** to get me going. I can honestly say that if I didn't go to film school I wouldn't be in the position that I'm in now. I would have been willing to take the easy way out, find a job and make films on the side, which is okay but it would have not gotten me anywhere.

I'm attaching a few stills from my twin brother Matt and I's most recent music video. Let me tell you, we went through the ringer on this one, we produced and directed it, and it wasn't easy. I learned so much though, every-time I make a film I learn something and if you want to go to film school, then I say you should go. If you don't and just want to make movies, I say you're just fine, but how far will you push yourself? Anyway, sorry about the rant. I just wanted to share a little bit about my film school feelings.

Yeah, for sure! We've left it up to the band to promote the video, hopefully it'll go up on their web site soon. They're trying to get it on MTV2 or Fuse, I don't think MTV even plays music videos anymore, so we have to try other venues.
