To answer some of your questions
-----------------------------------------------------
War Letter was a short narrative produced in an attempt to deal my feelings toward the war in Iraq and why we were fighting it.

It was shot on 7279 Kodak 500T color film using the ARRI S with Cooke prime lenses.

For me, it was basically an exercise in lighting & cinematography. So both scenes are visually contrasting. And both differ in camera mov't and lighting; creating different moods between the two locations.

WAR LETTER was shot in accordance with limitations on length, and so it could only have a TRT of 03:28.

Both the POW and the Grandmother scenes were shot with two different crews, two different locations. One able to help during the day for the Grandmother scenes and the other for the night scenes of the POW.

The entire production was shot within my apartment coplex (not even 20ft from my front door) in order to cut down on location budget and movement. It just made it easier for myself and the crew--a sort of comfortable base camp.

It is another simple short narrative inwhich I invested time & effort in working with light and shadow, right vs. wrong, and the sacrifices we all have to make in this world, whatever they may be.

Thank you & enjoy!

I was thinking about making a iraq feeling film but all that came to my mind was the word stupid, a guy punching G W Bush and did I mention stupidity?

ah well, I think it was a good decision not to make this filmSmile

i am in school right now so we normally are working with 16mm. next semester i will be shooting some more with super 16 & 35mm.

16mm is ok but i prefer 35mm for the sheer size of it--incredible.
