Hey Rachel, Im glad you kill Emos

I checked out your site, and watched two of your videos (It was 2 days ago, so please forgive me for not remembering the titles) One was the Avriel Levine song, and the other Was Portisehead, with the performance artist.
OK, I think you have good instincts, and I liked the color scheme in the Portise head video, as well as the visuals. Of course, you know there wasnt really lighting and such in the Avriel song, because you were concentrating on the performance. (Of course, you wouldnt have to worry about that if it was really Avriel)
I would suggest working on your lighting and composition a bit, but if you make it, a good D.P. will do this for you. I only recommened it, because I think everyone should be self sufficent. The more you know, the more dangerous you become.
Other than that, My only real suggestion, is in editing. If you watch music videos, for the most part, no single clip lasts longer than 3 seconds. Alot of the shots in both did. Now, I understand you want to show a certain scenario in a scene, and cant really cut away. I would say, just get more coverage. Its a music video. Jump cuts, and abstract framing work. You could shoot the subjects hands, or feet, or a single eye. The possibilities are almost endless. Stuff like here emerging from the sheet, might have been better served if there were closeups on the sheet, her head emerging, whatever.
As for "wasting your time" never think that. Always pursue your dream. Die trying to attain that which you care most about. Want to mak videos? Watch videos check out
