Hi everyone. I just wanted to plug the movie I'm working on. It's called "The Deadland Summer". It's going to be feature length, so I'm not sure if it will be sent to studentfilms.com but we're planning to send it to several film festvals and sell DVDs and whatnot...
If you're still reading, thanks. The story follows a young man, Nick Corley, as he returns home from his first year of college. He's finds out that the small town he once new has been baught up almost completely.
I didn't write it, so I'm not too sure how it's supposed to be pitched.
If you are interested in keeping tabs on it, I'm adding a link to the rather bland website.
For the people who are still interested, I'm the director of photography and co-editor. I should end up getting a production credit of some sort (not really important though). I also worked in the rewriting process, but my influence wasn't enough for me to ask for a credit on that either. Well, that's about it. If I've left anything off let me know...
Oh, this is currently in production, we're in princple photography now and should wrap at the end of April. We're pushing for a JUNE 15, 2004 completion. Release/Premiere will be August 2004.
Thanks.

Yeah... tell me about it. I saw the trailer during the first week of production and was like... woah! It's "Deadland"... only cool. Haha! Yeah, it's nothing like Walking tall, I'm sure.
There're several movies about a character returning to their hometown only to start some conflict due to the change...
But yeah, this was written like 2 years ago... at has been toned way down due to lack of funds... the budget is 2500, it's being shot on PD-150s and an XL1.
I'm happy with the results - as far as appearance goes. It's just wierd the way we're shooting so out of order... almost backwards.
*NEWS* We have just drop 4 scenes from the movie. I'm not sure what this will do to the over all length. I'm still not sure if it'll be 45 minutes or less. I'll keep you posted.
We're on a break for 5 days! Must... take... advantage....
