Hey all...

So I went down to Palm Beach for the festival and the premiere of "Redemption"

I got'ta tell ya despite my concerns, despite no color correction and a very temp soundtrack It was pretty damn good. They really did pull it off.

he premiere went very well with quite a nice audience response. We got some news coverage and quite a few indi film articles are in the works.

The best part though... Tue. morning after the premiere as i was headed back for Charlotte the head of aquisitions for a major studio (can't say which one just yet but trust me... you know them) called us to say he had a representive in the audience who really enjoyed the film and felt it was something they would want. He was'nt able to come to the fest himself but he did want to see a screener. We are going to try and fly him down for a private showing. I'll keep you posted.

Finally: Some of my DP's work. The following are screengrabs from the feature they just completed on the DVX10 with prime lensew, blah blah. The strongest part is the color correction wrk put into it. Im stoked because this is what the Horror feature we are planning should look like. Enjoy.

That's sweet, man. congrats.

What exactly is your role (and interest in distribution) for Redemption? I know you did a little (steadi)camera operating. I know you did a little acting. I know it's based on your short. Isn't an old college prof of yours the main dude on Redemption? Are you also a producer? Director? Writer? I take it you have some points coming to you in back end? ... Curiosity kills.

Regardless, best fortune. I envision this turing into a trilogy. "Once upon a time in Palm Beach"?

LOL Well lets see. I did play one of the leads, I did some second unit shooting (as well as a little operating on set when i was'nt in use) One of the stories is based on "Intersection" and I should also recieve a screenplay credit since it was bassically copied and pasted in with a few points tweeked for the rest of the story. I also co-directed my scene, but dont expect credit for that. There is some very small back end but I expect to make more money as an actor since it was a SAG shoot and they have to pay scale for my days. Really if it gets hooked up with this studio it is just more of a recognition thing as well as getting my foot in a door which is worht more to me anyway.

The truth is I don't think they are as interested in the film itself as maybe the story behind how it was made. "Film School professor writes feature with film student, and shoots feature on HD in 16 days with a crew made up OF film students" and not just pulling cable eithere, key crew roles. The media ate it up so far, hopefully that can be our edge.

That's great news Tizz! Smile

Those are some nice looking grabs too.

Question: Have they ever made a movie in south Florida that didn't involve some sort of SWAT team?

Sounds familiar. Wink

Looks good... Hey just curious what temp music you guys are using.

What's the vibe of the score? Electronic, orchestral, hybrid?

LOL I think I am the only one who has managed to shoot movies in South Florida WITHOUT having a SWAT team though even I should fall prey to the allure soon enough if my crime drama "One Time In Miami" gets made (think Training Day meets Resivior Dogs)
