A while ago I posted the trailer for my movie to several forums. I promptly received loads of really useful advice, tiny little details Iâd messed up, and opinions. Some of them were so helpful that I immediately wished Iâd shown it to you people before making it public. So that is what Iâm doing now with my new trailer.
Iâd love to hear your advice, your critique, your opinions, and anything you think I should change before I release it on the site. I plan to upload the high quality one to the website around the 14th, so I need to finalize it by then. This one is low, low quality (35kps) cause I donât want to bug the guy who does our huge file hosting until itâs done.
So please... bring it on! Everything you say will help me fine tune until itâs perfect!
Hey, I can't offer much help for your trailer, but I just want to say how fabulous the lighting is in that one scene with the guy laying on the ground and the blue light falling onto him..that looks amazing...
I thought the trailer was good... yeh, the blue lighting scene was neat. One thing that stuck out for me was that the chair at the end of the trailer (it spins into place) just seemed way out of place and didn't make sense to me. I think the text 'There was a murder' was cool.. but it led me to believe there was more text coming like 'he wasn't involved....' 'or was he?' ... along those lines... you might need some more text to keep the trailer uniform. I'll take another look at it.

ah ha! to tell the truth that was a big, nuclear powered spotlight (the sun), aimed through a diffuse gel (a disgustingly dirty attic window) to cast a beautiful blue light on the floor with blue shafts illuminating the background. I was absolutly amazed when i saw it (it didn't look anything like that in real life.) Better pic here.

yep, i know people would ask about that. it's sort of a standing joke with the cast and crew and (tiny) following of fans. there was a rocking chair at the end of that last trailer, everyone asked why.

Thanks very much for reinforcing my opinion there. I was hoping somebody would point it out so I couldn't get away with it.
Thanks for the help! I appreciate it! I'll post and let everyone know when the finished trailer goes up.
cheers
