Very nice looking, Tizzy. As you stated, that actor did a great job of looking 'dorky'! I like the very warm lighting in the background of the (was it the first one?) one with Eric. Very contrasting tones between that and the whiter light on the actor.

Nice job. A couple or three questions - and if these were answered in another post, I apologize:

1. What camera are you shooting with?
2. Have you completed shooting?
3. What type of sound/mic equipment are you using?
and lastly,
4. If you're shooting dv, what is the approximate tape ratio (ie: shooting 6 hours to get 10 minutes, etc.)?

Thanks for the info.

Very nice shots, Tizzy. I am yet again impressed by your work.

One question. Why does your website have the title "Games Web Page"???

Okay, here goes...

1)Sony 200 DVcam. Its all we could get our hands on in short notice.
2)No, and if these bumbs dont get their "S" togthere, I wont get to. We have actually cancelled 4 shoots since that one, and I am moving next weekend. Hopefully, we shall make a way.
3)For this shoot, we had to go with wirless body mics. The sound guy owns a nice shotgun but it broke earlier that day, so we made do. Sound is pretty good, we just had to watch for noise when the actors are moving.
4)Well, lets see. I have shot 1 and 1/2 hours thus far, and that should make up about 8 minutes of the final. Of course, that was done in one 8 hour night, with over 40 individual setups, and an average of 4 takes per set up, so you do the math. I was pretty pleased with how much we cranked out. 8 pages in one night sure isnt bad, especially not when you doing complicated jib shots.

As for the "games page" Its because I used some video game site as the template, and never changed that. I am trying to work on a new site, with a real domain name, no pop ups, and enough bandwith to handle video so i figured I shouldnt bother messing with it to much. Thanks again for the interest.

For the dorkiness, forget the glasses. It's all about the short sleeved dress shirt that looks to be a size too small. Perfect.

Here's a film idea...a bunch of Hippies walk around painting stuff, they stop, eat lunch, then find a magical...CAMEL - which they eat to stay alive.

What gives is I have been slammed. Originally I had lofty dreams of doing my color correction, and ADR work but it has recently become apparent that isnt practical. Between the feature version (which has just been greenlight) my latest short "Fender Bender", and my wife and I relocating to North Carolina things have been nuts.

On a high note, as I type this MiniDV dubs of "Intersection" are being made behind me. In addition, I will soon have my own camera gear, and editing set up. I just installed Avid Xpress 3.5, Tomorrow I am placing an order for 2 miniDV cams, one of which is the famed Panosonic AG-DVX100, and save a firewire card I am ready to go. If anything, my move to North Carolina should increase my productivity since I will no longer be limited by not having access to equipment. The only thing I need in N.C. is ambitious people looking to work on creative, and productive shoots. From what Ive seen so far, that shouldnt be a problem.

So, as soon as I get halfway settled in N.C. I will be sending in a copy of "Intersection" to Student films, followed soon thereafter by "Fender Bender" In addition, I am planning a horror feature for N.C. with a very Evil Dead/28 days later/Exorcist feel to it. Its being made for video distribution. In otherwords, lookout. Soon grasshoper, soon.

About video distribution....

how exactly did that come to you? Did somebody read the script and go, "If you make this, we'll put it on video?"

Ok Tizzy, now I'm jealous!!! The Pany will be a sweet cam. Congrats on getting one.

I'm up to my eyeballs in this Wright Brother's documentary (through DEC), but if I can help out in any way on the horror shoot, let me know.

If you have everything set, that's fine too. I wouldn't mind hanging out and learning something - if that's permissable!

Ok, Kyle. As for gory. Shotguns, possesed dead, and dismemberment so... yeah, some gore. Although I intend for it to have some level of intellegence as well. The story is, well, somewhat true. Its hard to explain.

As for video distribution, it actually came from me simply pitching the concept to a distributor. From my research if you make make a descent horror feature (even on DV) for under $5,000 you should have no trouble making a profit. This guy said if I could keep the budget under 5, he would fund it although Im not sure I want him to. If I can do it myself, and just go to him for distrbution we can split things down the middle. Although its nice to know thats an option.

Mark: Yeah, I can always use an extra hand. I have some meetings set up with the Charlotte Film Commission, and nothing is set in stone yet (im still writting the script) so im looking at trying to roll on production next spring (I have to remember, this isnt Florida so no winter shoots faking for spring.) Either way, ill keep you posted.

Thanks. Keep me posted. I will hopefully be through editing the doc by then. If you get stuck with the script, let me know. I'm probably a better writer than filmmaker anyway!
