snitch. is a project my group and I did for class that had to revolve around lighting. This is the first thing I have plot graphed and lit properly since I started filmmaking.
They synopsis is pretty much Erica, the model student, is trying to steal exams, but Jackie, the student teacher, is able to catch her red-handed and a cool fight breaks out.
Before anyone starts, this is NOT inspired by Kill Bill. Yes, one song is from Kill Bill, but this was storyboarded and planned before I saw the film, so anything else is coincidence. If I had to say what inspired me the most, I'd probably go with Snatch because of the titles and fight scene.
There were some problems when filming this, so we had to go back and reshoot certain shots to make the peice flow and we also had to completely rethink and reshoot the ending. Our original ending didn't work once I got down to editing, so we had about 40 minutes the next day to come up with a new one. So, as a little bonus, attached is also the alternate/original ending.

hey there. I watched it and enjoyed it. The fight could have been a bit more intense but you had some nice work in there. Whenever yoru shooting a fight sequence, especially one that is going to involve a quick editing style, its a good idea to shoot lots of closeup inserts even if you dont plan to use them. Close ups of a fist coming at her head, a kick being thrown, or of their hands wrestling, ect. This gives you something to punch in on and allows you to cut out some of the dead space that is usually created when you have two in experenced fighters trying to do a multiple hit extended take.
Overall good job though. I liked the music.
BTW I finally got ahold of the folks down south and they claim they will be getting a copy of the "Redemption" trailer out to you ASAP. Im not holding my breath. They are supposed to contact me when its in the mail so Ill let you know. R. Michael

I really liked the camera moves. Was it on a sled of some kind? I wouldn't say the lighting was memorable, but you had I really like the fluidity of the camera.

The camera was on a very good tripod with a set of wheels attached to the legs, so that's what gave it the dolly movement.
The song is called Don't let me be misunderstood by Santa Esmeralda.
