I am aware that a few people from this site have applied to Ontario schools. I've just been accepted to Sheridan for Media Arts, has any one else been accepted there yet? If so let me know, perhaps we'll be meeting each other.

I've applied to Sheridan for the Media Arts program, but I have not heard anything yet. Did they send you a letter in the mail? Or, was it posted on that online service they provided?

You can find out by following the instructions on the back of the letter that you've received recently, about the Access Sheridan portal(so yes the online sevice provided). But the actual letter of confirmation request will be sent to you sometime before April 10. And check the glossary of admission terms. If it says "Admit Firm"
then your in.

Well, I just checked, and it says 'Firm Admit' on my application status. So... I guess I'm in. Big Grin

Congrats, man... I guess we might be meeting each other after all. Is Sheridan your first choice?

Actually, it is not my first choice. I still don't know too much about the program - maybe I'll get a chance to visit the school sometime or talk to someone who can tell me more about the prog. I'm hoping to hear good things from Ryerson and York before making any decisions about where I am going. But for now, I'm getting a vibe that I would chose Humber over Sheridan if it came down to it.

Humber is Cheaper, but cannot compare to Sheridan.
It's the best school in Canada for Media. I also applied to Humber and Niagara for film, but I never went to their seminars, I found no point to go to a school that can't teach what you need to have to be a professional in this industry. I know Morgan from this community goes to Humber and says great things about it, but he also applied to Sheridan and wanted to go there, but was unable to get in(as far as I know).

Ryerson and York, However, can compare but in my oppinion are not better. I plan to do the Joint-Degree program with York and Sheridan, which is 3 years of college and two years of university. Which is a pretty good deal, considering you get a diploma and Bachelor of Fine Arts with Hons degree from York.

Actually the cinematographer from There's Something About Mary went to York, that's pretty cool... but ultimately it's always up to you, and what you think you want from going to school. Good luck, man
