Since I've been tweaking the forums here and there...

Does anyone have any suggestions?

it's really funky on mac 9.2... but i'll be upgrading soon anyway. like, i can't create a new topic, or search, or anything like that.

um - other than that - it rocks! Smile btw, do you need more mods?

yeah, I have a crappy MAC too and am not able to really use the nifty toolbar at the top of the page...therfor I can't make a new topic.

Can someone just provide a LINK to a "CREATE A NEW TOPIC" page? This way whenever I want to make a topic I can just come to this thread, click the link, and it'll take tme to where I can make a topic.

Here's a suggestion, being that we all see the main page for the forum, is there a way we can list on that page the users currently in the chat room? Perhaps then we'd be more inclined to go visit, knowing theres something actively going on Smile

That would be a great feature! I agree....

But there's no way for me to do it with InfoPop now.

It's PHP based isnt it? There must be some way to parse that info, even if there isn't an existing module, right?

I'm not sure how it is based - but there probably is a way. Maybe in the future when my programmer finished the next build of the new site.

One suggestion I have would be extra skins for the forum because I find the white text on black background a bit strenuous on the eye.
I'm not saying change the design - just offer people an alternative.

A whole site redesign is in the works.

It will be a black on white version (or some variation of that).

Hey Chris, I have another suggestion for the forums (and this one is much easier to implement than my last idea about chat room users Big Grin) What about a forum for new users to introduce themselves? as it is now, they wind up saying hellos in random threads and the average person may miss it. A centralized location would be a bit cleaner, also keeps the topic specific threads on topic.

Just a thought Smile

Isn't the Filmmaker Announcement forum along these lines? But I like the idea.

A forum called, "Introductions" or "Introduce Yourself"?

yea i see filmmaker announcements as more of a project oriented section. I think Introduce Yourself with an appropriate forum description would probably do it, and i'd think that putting that forum somewhere in the order of forums so that new user won't have to scroll to see it would make it more likely to be used, otherwise they'll probably miss it and that'd defeat the purpose. Just a suggestion.

Good luck with the server and the redesign by the way.
