Hello, I have a small, well, maybe BIG problem... I plan to start filming over 3 weeks from now, and i tough that i did not use much text, but i have rewritten the story a bit and now there is much text in it... and the speak in Dutch! Wel, thats the problem... i dont want them to speak Englisch, one of them is 12 and dont know English very good, so i let them speak in Dutch..
I was very excited to submitt my film to this website, but i dont think many viewers would like it if the speak Dutch... the text is not realy important for the movie and whitout it, iam sure people will understand it.
Shall i make subtitles? can people read subtitles in a small view?
Thanks, Jerry

many people don't like subtitles. i personally find that after a minute's adjustment i am reading them without realizing it - as though the characters are speaking english. go for it!

in my opinion, it takes an ignorant person to dislike subtitles. not all movies are supposed to be mindless. sure...if half baked were in latin with subs, it would lose something and not be funny. however, they do work in the asian film The Seven Samurai.
go for the subtitles. i know i'll watch it. i'd rather have subtitles than a bad dub job.
