This site is all well and good the way it is, but I noticed that there are a lot of like minded people here, most of which are looking to do more projects.

Would it be possible to make another section on this site devoted to available work/projects? You could sort them by area, age, experience, whatever. It'd almost be like a craiglist.

For me, the worst thing about doing another film is finding a compatible crew. I think this could help immensely.

this sort of idea has been kicked around in a few posts and invariably someone will point out the classifides and so on.. but without sounding cynical i'm really curious to know- does that sort of thing ever really work out? i mean what are the odds that someone you need who is willing to work on your project and would be right for it lives within close enough proximity that a crew match could be made? are there cases where this happens?

I'm not entirely sure how well it works out. I know that when I was in a band we posted an ad online and we got several replies, even auditioned a few people. They were good but looking for a different style of music.

Long story short, couldn't really hurt, could it? Just an idea.

How about we do this, split the Filmmaking Classifieds section into:

Actor/Actress Classifieds
Composer Classifieds
Crew Classifieds

That sounds great, Chris...
Then, if the crew section starts getting too big, you can split that one up, and so on...
