Getting back to the original topic, i still think an FAQ forum for especially helpful posts would be a good thing. I have seen this done elsewhere where mods either move helpful topics to the forum and lock them, or ask the helpful poster to cleanly rewrite the post and have it placed by itself in the locked forum. Could be a good resource.
