Most, if not all, of the major film schools will more readily take students who demonstrate storytelling ability rather than technical knowledge of how to make a video, like a music or snowboarding video may show. Think about it logically, they want storytelling ability so that they can teach students the technical aspect and guide their artistic development. Someone who only shows proficiency at making a "video" won't benefit as much from the program and are less likely to be chosen. But then again I don't know much, so send whatever. Tyler

Storytelling is what I'd do. Snowboarding shots over music don't show people that you are a filmmaker - they show people that you like snowboarding. NOW - if you had snowboarding shots that are cut really nicely to music interwoven with interviews of the snowboarders to make it into a documentary - now that's something else. -Chris Studentfilms.com
